Summary Statement of Overall Purpose/Goal of Position
Under the general supervision of the Parks and Cemetery Supervisor.
Essential Duties
Typical tasks performed on a daily basis might include general park maintenance; splash pad monitoring and water testing; enforce splash pad rules bathroom cleaning; trash removal; pressure washing pavilions; event set‑up / take‑down; perform other duties as required, etc.
Status
Seasonal/Temporary, up to 40 hours per week. The job goes through the end of September 2024. Monday through Friday & rotating weekends.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: 16 yrs old or older. Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of city park maintenance, splash pad maintenance, restroom cleaning, the operation of small equipment and other duties as assigned.
Certifications: Valid Utah driver’s license
Responsibility for: Great responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment and tools; moderate mental effort required.
Communication Skills: Communicate fluently with co‑workers and supervisors.
Equipment Used
Tree identification tools, use of a computer and mobile collecting device in the field
Extent Supervised
Work is routine, requiring only occasional supervision.
Analytical Ability
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers and supervisors; work independently on assigned projects.
Working Conditions
Constant exposure to deadlines, some overtime; constant pressure and fatigue, exertion, stooping and kneeling, talking, hearing and seeing; always outside, exposure to temperature and weather conditions; frequent exposure to excessive noise and vibration, environmental and physical hazards.
