Overview
BOB HOWARD is part of the fast growing Group 1 Automotive, a leader in automotive retail and service.

We are seeking an experienced Main Line Automotive Technician for our Bob Howard Edmond/OKC locations.

In this role you will need to be capable of independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems. This role is intended for technicians who have run their own bay (or multiple bays), manage workflow independently, and are comfortable performing complex diagnostics and major repairs in a fast‑paced shop environment.

This position is not entry‑level and is best suited for technicians with proven hands‑on experience beyond routine maintenance services.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair complex automotive systems including engine, transmission, drivability, electrical, HVAC, suspension, and braking systems

Perform advanced diagnostics using professional scan tools and testing equipment

Independently manage assigned bay(s), repair orders, and workflow

Accurately document diagnostics, repair recommendations, and completed work

Collaborate with service advisors to explain repair needs and timelines

Maintain productivity and quality in a flat‑rate or performance‑based environment

Adhere to shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Qualifications

This position requires prior experience performing diagnostics and major repairs on OEM dealership vehicles and is not an entry‑level or maintenance‑only role

Minimum 3–5 years of professional automotive repair experience

Proven experience running your own bay independently (multi‑bay experience a plus)

Ability to diagnose issues without step‑by‑step supervision

Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and drivability diagnostics

Must own professional‑grade tools necessary for main line work

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
