MACHINE OPERATOR I-Kiln Relief Operator

Primary Objective:
Provides operator relief in various departments as needed.
Responsibilities
Operates production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
May function as a changeover, must be able to assist with color changes, setting, material handler, inspector, and slab handler.
Conducts test or inspections as required on the control plan and according to test methods.
Performs additional job tasks as documented in the job task check sheet.
May stop production equipment when a safety, quality, or mechanical problem prevents equipment use or conformance to product requirement.
Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
Performs other related duties as required.
Physical Requirements
The associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures. Noise level is usually loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Good oral and written communication skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English. Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. Must be Dal‑Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
