Position Overview
The client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative team. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a close-knit, rural healthcare environment and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care before and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-anesthesia (PACU) nursing care
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before and after procedures
Administer medications and manage pain control per physician orders
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care
Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
Respond promptly to changes in patient status in the PACU setting
Qualifications
Active RN license (Vermont or compact state)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Previous Pre-Op and/or PACU experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting
