ChristianaCare – GoHealth Urgent Care is operating urgent care centers across the Delaware/Maryland area. The Medical Assistant with X‑Ray will support Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of tasks, including patient care management, organization, and communication. This role performs limited‑capacity x‑rays and reports results to Medical Providers.

Job Requirements
Education
High School Diploma required
Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
Work Experience
Medical Assistant experience preferred
Front Desk experience preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
One of the following certifications is required at the time of hire:
CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA)
CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA or CHP)
RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, AAH, or ARMA)
NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT)
NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NAHP)
By State For X‑Ray
DE – ARRT Certification + Registration with Delaware Board
MD – State‑issued certificate for Limited Operators
Additionally, CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of the start date. In lieu of an approved MA Certification, the following certifications at the time of hire are accepted:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RN
EMT – Emergency Medical Technician (verified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
Essential Functions
Responsible for limited x‑ray services as needed
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x‑ray services for patients by applying x‑ray energy using established procedures and safety protocols to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Patient Registration – secure required paperwork and insurance documentation, verify insurance and patient eligibility, process co‑pays, and schedule appointments.
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.
Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.
Patient Preparation and Rooming – inform technical staff of patient flow, prepare patients for examination through interviews and vital signs, and conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed.
Stocking – maintain supplies and medical supplies in exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; complete order sheets and check expiration dates.
Administrative – maintain medical records, scan charts, answer phone calls, sort correspondence, ensure reception is well maintained, perform courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up, and handle opening/closing duties including cashing out, end‑of‑day communication, and securing the building.
Maintain daily controls and calibration of equipment, submit quality logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets.
All other duties as assigned.
