Job Summary

We are seeking an APP for Tanner Health’s Cardiology service based in the Cath Lab. The provider will join a multi‑provider team of physicians and other APPs and report to the Director of Operations for Tanner Heart and Vascular Services. Tanner Heart and Vascular is part of Tanner Medical Group which consists of 42 individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers.
Scope of Responsibilities

Work in collaboration with the interventional cardiology physicians to provide services in the Cath Lab and the floors/ICU.
Pre‑op and Post‑op evaluation of patients for procedures in Carrollton and Villa Rica.
Rounding on patients in the floor/ICU as directed by the interventional cardiology physicians.
Collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic issues, order and interpret diagnostic tests including lab work and imaging studies.
Work with interventional cardiology team to work on core measures and quality metrics pertinent to invasive/interventional cardiology.
Provide education to patients as necessary.

Position Requirements

Monday–Friday with another APP in 2 shifts of 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
1:8 weekends (working with additional APPs and physicians)
Will have 2 weekdays off when providing weekend coverage
No night call responsibilities

Timely communication with the interventional physicians regarding any active issues in the Cardiology service
Personally support and work to progress overall goal to improve patient access and satisfaction
Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and providers
Must maintain high degree of confidentiality
Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patients, hospital staff and other providers
Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards
Must meet credentialing criteria
Education

Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner
Certification/License

Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner
Experience

2–4 years of general NP/PA experience desired OR 1–3 years of cardiology experience desired.
Qualifications

Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
ACLS required.
Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. BLS, PALS)
Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Must meet credentialing criteria.
Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
