Opportunity Overview
We have an immediate opening for a
Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
to join our team at
Shady Grove Fertility
in
Washington, DC .
Schedule:
Every other Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Compensation:
$20 to $23 per hour (commensurate with experience)
This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.
Responsibilities
Perform high volume of phlebotomy
Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communicate physician orders and instructions
Provide pre and post‑op education
Perform semen washes and set up for IUIs
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
Utilize the computer for entering labs and printing labels
Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
Support and promote excellence in customer service
Qualifications and Skills
Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow‑through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
