Patient Safety Screener – Research Medical Center
The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) provides continuous observation and monitoring for high‑risk patients in collaboration with the nursing team. The PSA ensures a safe environment, minimizes the risk of falls and self‑harm, and may assist with basic activities of daily living. Our attendants are passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience and are committed to caring like family.

Responsibilities

You will maintain a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including while family or visitors are in the room.

You will accompany patients and ensure safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment.

You will establish a safe, risk‑free environment by utilizing knowledge of fall‑prevention protocols, infection‑control measures, and self‑harm prevention.

You will perform room assessments regularly and after any visitation.

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).

Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

De‑Escalation Training required within first 90 days of hire.
