Job Overview
Villa At West Branch is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) helps patients/residents with comprehensive and personalized health care needs under the supervision of a nurse. The CNA assists patients/residents with activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting and exercising.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, the CNAs work closely with the nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.

Provides physical support for patients/residents’ daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.

Assists patients with daily medication and supplements.

Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on their dietary restrictions.

Examines patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.

Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.

Cleans rooms and bed linens.

Checks and records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Answers patient calls and needs.

All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Good collaboration and teamwork skills with the nursing staff.

Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.

Must be CPR Certified.

Physical Requirements

Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Meet all health requirements as needed.
