Position
Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Responsibilities
Collaborate with nurses and doctors to provide personalized care for patients.
Check vital signs such as temperature, heartbeat, and breathing.
Assist with activities of daily living – walking, bathing, turning, dressing, toileting, and eating.
Collect samples such as urine.
Report any changes in a patient’s condition to a nurse.
Weigh patients and record vital signs.
The PCT works under the supervision of a nurse who ensures tasks are performed safely and correctly.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of one of the following:
STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
Direct patient care experience within the last five years (performing vital signs, bathing, turning/positioning, toileting).
Currently enrolled in nursing school with at least one clinical rotation completed.
Special consideration for candidates with prior direct patient care experience who may be excused from fundamental training upon successful skills validation.
Other Skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining composed.
Proficiency with computer usage.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Hospital work experience is a bonus.
