Wage Range: $23.72 - $37.95 per hour

Job Summary
A member of the ENT staff who works with the clinical team by processing instruments and equipment for use in the exam room and maintaining stock control of certain supplies. Responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality patient care by providing patient, clerical and administrative support to department staff.
Primary Duties
Processes supplies through cleaning, packaging, sterilizing and storing procedures.
Washes and sterilizes instruments and scopes after each use.
Operates autoclave and scope processing supplies.
Greets and prepares patient for exams.
Obtains and records patient history and vitals.
Assists provider according to Washington State regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies
Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and speaking English as required for business necessity.
Accountability for HIPAA privacy and security standards within the department or assigned nursing unit.
Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Office, specialized software, and electronic office equipment.
Adheres to organizational patient safety standards relevant to the department or assigned nursing unit.
Provides patient care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, specific to the age of the patient population served in the department or assigned nursing unit.
Cleans, inspects and maintains equipment per manufacturer's recommendations.
Monitors and records daily and weekly sterility tests of autoclaves according to ENT procedure.
Cleaning, processing and sterilization of instrumentation and scopes for use in the clinic, caring for and maintaining supplies and equipment.
Cleans, organizes, and stocks exam rooms.
Minimum Qualifications
License, Certification, Education, or Experience
REQUIRED
for the position
High School Graduate or equivalent
Successful completion of on-the-job infection control training
WA State Medical Assistant-Registered within 60 days of hire
Current Healthcare Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
DESIRED
for the position
1 year of experience in Sterile Processing and/or 1 year experience of related medical assistant work experience
Technical courses in Sterile Processing
