Fabricator Welder
HEYSHAM PORT LTD, Barrow, AK, United States
Location:
Barrow- Upon- Humber, GB, DN19 7RY
Your Role
As Fabricator Welder at Humber Bulk Terminal, you’ll be responsible for fabricating, welding and maintaining mechanical assets across the site. You’ll help keep conveyors, elevators, hoppers, silos and safety systems operating safely and reliably, while supporting maintenance programmes and EHS initiatives alongside the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
You’ll work closely with operations, mechanical, electrical and EHS teams, overseeing fabrication and welding on cranes, conveyors, chutes, walkways and structural components. You’ll drive reliability improvements, support preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and demonstrate strong leadership in safety, quality and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring
You’ll bring strong fabrication and welding skills, with solid experience in MIG and MMA welding, reading drawings, marking out and using oxy/fuel and plasma cutting equipment. Attention to detail, good communication skills, the ability to prioritise under pressure and basic IT literacy will help you succeed. You should also be comfortable working at height, in confined spaces and both independently and as part of a team.
It’s an advantage if you have experience with bulk‑handling equipment, pattern development, plant tickets such as IPAF or telehandler, or knowledge of bulk cargo operations and PPM systems. A Level 3 qualification in fabrication and welding, a UK driving licence with access to a car, and relevant industry training will further strengthen your application.
