IMS Care Center, located in Phoenix, is seeking a Medical Office Assistant for its Cardiology department in Avondale. The position involves answering high‑volume calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, logging new patient referrals, and supporting front‑office operations.

Responsibilities

Answer patient telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate person.

Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.

Verify and update patient demographics.

Verify patient eligibility.

Requirements

1–2 years’ experience preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.

Cardiology experience preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

EMR (Athena) experience a plus.

Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact with diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively and organized.

Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA guidelines and protection of PHI.

Professional demeanor when working with patients face‑to‑face or over the phone.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Registered Medical Assistant, Emergency Room or Emergency Medical Technician, or minimum of 2–5 years of medical‑assisting experience.

Experience with office medical procedures, insurance, managed‑care operations, EMR and scheduling software.

Front‑office experience in a clinical setting preferred.
