Description

As an ASC Clinical Supervisor, you will supervise daily clinical operations of the surgery center and manage the clinical and clerical staff by established Federal, State, and accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established Atlantic Vision Partners policies and procedures in the absence of the ASC Operations Manager and/or Director of Surgical Services. Oversee patient care activities in preoperative, postoperative, and intraoperative. Assist with inventory management and purchasing of required supplies, controlled drugs, and equipment, etc.

Job Responsibilities

Participates in patient care activities adhering to the requirements of the Operating Room RN and/or Preop/PACU RN job descriptions when providing direct patient care.

Establishes, implements and evaluates patient care quality and standards with medical and clinical staff.

Evaluates nursing staff documentation and patient care through review of medical records.

Schedules qualified staff to provide required coverage for patient care adhering to applicable guidelines.

Establishes and oversees a system to ensure adequate supplies of controlled drugs, supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available to meet patient needs 100% of the time, within budgetary constraints.

Provides adequate staffing coverage 100% of the time.

Cancels staff appropriately according to established protocol when census is low to remain within budgetary limits.

Ensures non-expired sterile packs and supplies are available 100% of the time for scheduled cases.

Ensures no missing or unaccounted for controlled substances 100% of the time and controlled substances are accounted for in accordance with procedures established in conjunction with the pharmacy consultant.

Identifies work related improvement opportunities.

Communicates clear understanding of job responsibilities, task objectives, deadlines and performance expectations.

Disseminates relevant information about decisions, plans and activities to people that need it for job performance.

Shares up-to-date information on center activities and policy changes promptly.

Evaluates the performance of individuals through timely completion of competency assessments and skill checks.

Requirements

Previous healthcare experience a plus

Minimum of one year of ambulatory surgery clinical experience and administrative management experience preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with substantial amounts of information efficiently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong diligence

Willingness to submit to a background check (drug screen for Ambulatory Surgery Centers only)

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity including viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, interpretation, etc.

Must be able to be stationary for prolonged periods of time.
