Responsibilities
Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered.
Deliver and evaluate patient response to therapy per plan of care. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
Respond to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provide rapid assessment and appropriate intervention.
Educate patients and families about illness management and community resources.
Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
Stock and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintain storage areas with required levels and equipment.
Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment.
Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/units as needed.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Current CRT or RRT license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
