Job Description
Join Cedars‑Sinai, a leading hospital serving a diverse community. We are looking for a Clinical Nurse I (CN I) to provide direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.

Role Overview
A Clinical Nurse I (CN I) is a novice with less than one year of nursing experience, or re‑entering nursing after being out of nursing for five or more years. The CN I delivers direct care to assigned patients, incorporates independent decision‑making, and collaborates with physicians to provide expert care.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards.

Provide basic assessment of patient signs, symptoms, behaviors or general appearance.

Administer medications and therapeutic agents as part of the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care.

Deliver safe and appropriate patient care using the nursing process.

Perform skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and initiation of peripheral venous access.

Observe signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior or physical condition.

Plan patient care based on assessments and validate with peers, implement appropriate reporting, referrals and care.

Initiate emergency procedures when indicated.

Provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Identify patients’ readiness for learning and ability to follow directions, give consent.

Identify and assess patient safety concerns with respect to age and developmental considerations.

Intervene to provide a safe environment and evaluate effectiveness of interventions.

Accurately document direct and indirect patient care services in the electronic medical record.

Assist as a chaperone when required and upon completion of chaperone training.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Nursing (state accredited program).

RN graduates – 1 year of experience required to obtain RN license.

Valid California RN license.

Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
