
Administrative & Outreach Assistant (Part-Time)

The Administrative & Outreach Assistant supports the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) by assisting with outreach, participant recruitment, intake, and administrative functions directly related to program service delivery and compliance. This position plays a key role in ensuring participants are effectively served and that program documentation meets federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Recruitment
Conduct outreach to identify and recruit eligible farmworker participants
Assist with scheduling and coordinating intake appointments
Support participant enrollment and orientation activities
Maintain communication with prospective and active participants
Participant Support & Program Activities
Assist participants with completing intake and eligibility documentation
Coordinate supportive services and training referrals
Follow up with participants regarding program services and activities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant records
Administrative & Compliance Support
Organize and maintain participant case files in compliance with NFJP requirements
Enter and update data in internal systems (AVP/WIPS support)
Assist in preparing documentation for program monitoring and audits
Track participant services and supporting documentation
General Program Support
Answer and direct calls related to participant services
Coordinate with training providers and partners
Assist with appointment reminders and scheduling
Provide general administrative support directly related to program operations
Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with community outreach, customer service, or administrative support
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry systems)
Position Details
Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 20–25 hours per week)
Compensation: $21.00
Location: Hartford, CT
Reports to: NFJP Executive Director
