
Payroll Assistant

Responsibilities
Support bi‑weekly payroll processing for approximately 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review and validate employee timekeeping data, pay changes, and payroll inputs.
Maintain accurate digital and physical payroll records, including Personnel Action Forms (PAFs), ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws.
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll‑related inquiries, providing timely and professional support to employees.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with a strong attention to detail and a service‑oriented approach.
Partner with HR to manage the full employee payroll lifecycle, including new hire setup, status changes, and final pay calculations for terminations.
Ensure all payroll activities are completed in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in an organization with 200+ employees.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, HR, or related field preferred.
Experience with payroll systems required (Paylocity strongly preferred).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis).
Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume data with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with HR and Finance teams.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Must be able to pass Federal and State Exclusions Screening.
Fundamental Payroll Certification preferred, but not required.
