Therapy Aide

Schedule:
Full-time
Compensation: $19 base off years of experience

Responsibilities
Under Direct Supervision of Therapists:
Assists Therapists withtransferring patients to/from all surfaces and equipment appropriate to the facility/department
Assists Therapists in donning/doffing all adaptive equipment specific to the facility/department.
Assists Therapists with positioning patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment
Assists Therapists with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipment
Assist Therapists with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State Practice Act
Maintains the department and department equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Picks up equipment during treatment hours and at the end of treatment day
Maintains department and disinfects equipment throughout and at the conclusion of the treatment day according to hospital infection control policies and procedures
Reports defective equipment to Therapy Supervisor
Follows and assists with facility infection control policies and risk management procedures
Assists the Therapy Supervisor with identification of support staff needs for patient care
Assist Therapistsin therapeutic dysphagia and feeding program as requested and supervised by the speech therapists
Preferred:
experience with transporting and transferring patients to and from therapy sessions
experience cleaning and maintaining therapy equipment such as attaching specialty armrest, leg rests, and installing breaks for wheelchairs
Qualifications
Minimum
Direct patient care experience required
High school graduate or equivalent required
