Job Description: This position is responsible for operating trackside equipment, maintaining rail vehicles, enforcing safety protocols, and documenting operations.

Responsibilities

Promote Safety: Prioritize safety in line with MSHA, OSHA, and company standards.

Travel and Related Equipment: Travel with the train, communicate via radio, operate hand‑controlled switches, brakes, and remote devices.

Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment: Perform minor maintenance such as replacing heavy couplings, broken knuckles, or air brake hoses.

Document and Record Information: Inspect equipment, enter pricing, product, weight, and customer name records into computers; generate bills of sale, dray tickets, and bills of lading.

Perform General Physical Activities: Assist with loading/unloading, operate high‑pressure water hoses, pry bars, and shovels; perform start‑up and shut‑down, monitor material flow, and adjust as needed.

Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred experience in aggregate or construction industry.

Knowledge of best practices in communication and train movements.

Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and under various weather and noise conditions.

Mechanical skills: knowledge of industrial tools and maintenance.

Compensation
Hourly range:

$22.79

to

$27.01

per hour. (Excludes discretionary bonus or equity package.)
