
Career Specific Vocational Training Instructor Aide

The CSVT (Career Specific Vocational Training) Instructor Aide, under general supervision of the Career - Specific Vocational Instructor(s) and as part of a transdisciplinary team following established Agency policies and practices, assists in the planning, implementation and direct instructional service to fulfill each student’s individualized education plan in the area of Janitorial Services and/or Food Service.
Core Responsibilities
Assist instructor by providing individual and small group instruction to students
Monitor student’s behavior to ensure safety and appropriate interactions
Support students with physical and medical needs
Report student’s progress to instructor as needed
Provide positive and constructive feedback to students
Assist with classroom/on-site management and organization
Complete all program documentation in a timely manner.
Collect data and complete reports as directed by supervisor
Complete incident report forms as needs arise.
Completes mileage sheets per Agency standards when applicable.
Work collaboratively with students, families, employers, program staff, co-workers and supervisor.
Attend required trainings and other meetings/committees and maintain training certifications.
Follows Agency standards and procedures.
Provides person-centered, quality services.
Maintains compliance with applicable rules and regulations
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent,
Associates degree in human service field preferred.
1 year experience working with people with a developmental disability or mental health diagnosis required.
Knowledge of basic computer programs.
Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.
