JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Manager – Ancillary Services is accountable for the client satisfaction, relationship and resources for aligned clients. A typical client alignment consists of a group of clients with various degrees of size and complexity. The Operations Manager – Ancillary Services is accountable for all aspects of COBRA and Direct Bill administration for their clients both internally and externally to clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpret and understand business requirements and able to translate and convert those requirements into system configuration of the COBRA and Direct Bill system
Perform configuration setup and conversion activities within the system
Maintain administration system security profiles
Work with client implementation managers to set up the configuration for new clients
Manage user access and implement Empyrean’s security policy within the platform
Work with the application technology provider to coordinate, test, and rollout new feature releases of the platform
Understand how data interchange into and out of the system impacts business processes
Understand expectations that were set with clients and recognize when issues/events may affect delivery
Share acquired skills with team members, support application training, and develop a backup specialist
Ensure that there is proper documentation of standard system administration procedures
Monitor data exchange processes. Analyze/interpret process results and assist Client Operations teams in providing solutions for the errors that occurred during the process.
Hold aligned resources accountable for behaviors that support Empyrean’s policies and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong analytical skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, specifically documentation skills
Strong attention to detail and quality conscious, yet open and flexible to others’ ideas and suggestions
Client service oriented
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a multi-tasking environment
Proficient in coaching others
Strong ability to diagnose issues and resolve
Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and other analytical tools
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, equivalent years of experience in business analytics, management information systems, human resources management, benefits administration or a related field
3-5 years of experience of health and welfare administration
Advanced knowledge of benefits business, including products and services, operations, and delivery
Knowledge of general system environment and process flow
Regulatory and legislative knowledge in aligned service area (Health & Welfare)
Understanding of benefits outsourcing systems and application platform
Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered
