Business Manager
Bookkeeper / HR On-Point / Office Administrator (full-time, on-site, 40+ hours • Twin Cities, MN • primary hub with multi-location presence)
We are seeking a rare dual-discipline professional who brings genuine depth in both financial operations and people-centered HR — not someone who has touched both, but someone who has gone deep in each. You will own Turbo Tim’s books with rigor and be the trusted, consistent HR presence our rapidly growing ~60-person team across four locations — and growing — relies on.
Key Responsibilities

Pay bills; confirm contractual discounts, terms, rewards programs applied and collected
Set up vendors with W9s, ACH, and related documentation; flag activity outside standard practices
Monitor and reconcile credit card transactions; ensure proper QuickBooks categorization
Cash Flow & Banking
Reconcile bank accounts and financial transactions
Maintain cash flow projections for leadership visibility
Payroll & Benefits

Set up new employees in payroll; maintain records and ensure MN payroll compliance
Process 401(k) contributions, health insurance premiums, and benefit invoices
Ensure payroll deductions align with benefit elections; maintain participation records
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and review monthly financial statements across all locations; maintain general ledger accuracy
Assist with month‑end close, account reconciliation, and resolving discrepancies
Process sales and use tax filings; support external CPA during tax planning and year‑end prep
Special projects to support the growth and efficiency of Turbo Tim’s
HR On-Point — Employee Relations & Support
Serve as the trusted point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and interpersonal situations
Listen actively; guide employees to appropriate internal and external resources
Support employees through workplace challenges with empathy, consistency, and confidentiality
Facilitate informal conflict navigation; elevate formal matters to CEO/COO and HR Compliance vendor
Champion belonging, psychological safety, and inclusion across a diverse workforce
Support new hire onboarding from a culture and people-connection standpoint
Adapt communication style to meet employees where they are — written, verbal, interpersonal
Office Administration
Manage day‑to‑day administrative operations across Turbo Tim’s back office
Maintain employee files, HR documentation, records in BambooHR
Support onboarding paperwork, I‑9 verification, employment documentation
Receive, prioritize, and delegate facility work order requests across locations
Process and route HR Compliance vendor deliverables; assist with company‑wide communications and special projects
Policy & Compliance Partnership
Serve as the internal point of contact for HR policy questions; direct to HR Compliance vendor when appropriate
Support rollout of updated policies in plain, accessible language
Maintain handbook acknowledgment records; flag compliance gaps to COO and HR Compliance vendor
Qualifications
Required
3–7+ years of bookkeeping or staff accounting experience
3+ years of dedicated HR experience — employee relations, HR coordination, or people operations
Demonstrated experience supporting a diverse workforce with adaptable, inclusive communication
Proven ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality at all levels
Payroll processing, including benefits deductions and employee withholdings
Monthly financial statement preparation and QuickBooks Online fluency
Sales and use tax filing experience
Proficiency with BambooHR or a comparable HRIS platform
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across both financial and HR domains
Full‑time on‑site availability; primary Twin Cities hub with multi‑location presence
Self‑motivated with strong accountability to deliverables across two distinct disciplines
Comfortable in a growing, nimble small‑business environment

Bonus experience

What We’re Looking For
You are equally at home in a spreadsheet and a sensitive one‑on‑one conversation. You bring the discipline of a financial professional and the emotional intelligence of a trusted people advocate — and you understand that owning two specialized domains means bringing full depth to each, not spreading yourself thin across both. This is not a role for someone looking to grow into HR or finance. You bring both — already.
