Flex Tech is seeking
Level II Voice & Data Technicians
for commercial new construction and retrofit projects throughout the
Austin, TX area . Our clients expect skilled, reliable technicians who consistently deliver quality work—and we reward those who rise to the challenge.
Whether you are an experienced structured cabling technician or looking to continue developing your skills, this role offers steady work, hands-on experience, and opportunities to grow into senior or lead positions.
Key Responsibilities
Install, pull, label, dress, terminate, and test structured cabling systems
Work with
Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6A
cabling
Install support structures and workstation outlets (110 and Panduit)
Perform closet terminations including:
110 blocks
66 blocks
Bix and Krone hardware
Perform dummy-end testing and assist with documentation
Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
Identify cable pathways and assist with site surveys
Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
Assist with training or leading other technicians when needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum
18 months of commercial Voice & Data / structured cabling experience
Familiarity with
EIA/TIA standards
Experience with copper terminations; fiber exposure is a plus
Ability to read and work from blueprints
Must own basic hand tools, PPE, and specialty tools
Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required
Ability to work in tight or confined spaces
Physically capable of lifting materials and climbing ladders
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation to Houston-area jobsites
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Fiber termination experience (copper and/or fiber)
Low-level or high-level cable testing experience
Experience documenting test results
Experience leading or training technicians onsite
Willingness to travel outside the Houston market (not required)
