Oswego Community Unit School District 308 seeks exceptional candidates for the position of Special Education Teacher Assistant. They play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by Special Education Teachers.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Successful candidates will: desire to assist students with specialized needs to achieve goals, possess knowledge (or ability to acquire) best practices for working with children and young adults with specialized needs, skill in applying general guidance to specific situations, and ability to lift and move up to thirty pounds unaided or up to fifty pounds with assistance.
Compensation & Benefits Detail
Selected candidates receive a competitive salary of $20.50 per hour, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension plan, a 35‑hour workweek, medical and dental insurance with 75% board-paid contribution toward premiums, and a work calendar with 12 paid holidays plus winter/spring/summer breaks each year.
