
JPL Staff Assistant III (Onsite)

Overview
Must be a US Person or Permanent Resident. W2 with full benefits - 4 month contract position with potential for extension or conversion.
Customer and contract specific training will be required and provided.
Location: Pasadena, CA (Onsite).
Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
LCAT: Staff Assistant III.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $30‑$40/hr + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Responsibilities
Provide office support to one or more individuals which involves supply inventory and or purchasing; distributing information, mail; receiving visitors; arranging travel, meetings, events and/or conferences; scheduling appointments; receiving, referring, or answering mail; setting up and maintaining files, mail slots, name plates; answering and routing calls; creating letters, memos, presentations, spreadsheets and reports. Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Previous JPL experience
Extensive expertise in the administrative profession with strong organizational, computer and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and scheduling skills.
Ability to work optimally under pressure on multiple complex tasks, and work independently with minimal direction to meet commitments with high quality products.
Motivated self‑starter who takes the initiative to establish and implement process improvements.
Ability to evaluate situations and apply good judgment in any necessary resolution.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to exercise proper discretion when handling assignments of a discreet nature and when dealing with sensitive material.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desired Skills:
Extensive understanding of JPL/ESD policies, procedures, and practices.
Experience in a technical group or section office environment.
Experience with JPL tools such as JPLID, UCS, Concur Travel, and Timekeeping.
Willingness to look for, learn, and apply new Information Technology (IT) tools to office procedures and processes (e.g. Wiki, SharePoint).
Teaming skills and professionalism in working with all levels of personnel within and across multiple organizations.
