This job is a
full time (12-Month), benefited, FLSA exempt
position in the General Education Division that reports to the Division Chair of Math and Sciences. Working primarily at our Alpharetta Campus.
Salary
: not to exceed the budgeted amount of $61,360.00 per year.
Schedule
- 40-hours per week, on campus, at the Alpharetta campus; Monday through Friday; May occasionally work at the Alpharetta-North Fulton Campus.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Mathematics
OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in teaching college-level Mathematics courses in two-year or technical colleges.
Experience in course and curriculum development, demonstrating flexibility with diverse student populations and learning styles, and use of advanced instructional technologies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
Ability to teach in the classroom and proficiency in written and oral communication.
Computer literate and capable of using common software programs.
Some experience with online instruction a plus.
Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Mathematics courses at Gwinnett Technical College. Develops program and syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluates student progress; maintains supplies and prepares budget requests; ensures program certification; prepares documentation and administrative reports; attends staff development training; ensures safety; meets with students and educators; and assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare lesson plans and deliver classroom instruction for credited Mathematics courses.
Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives; create curricula and participate in curriculum development committees.
Evaluate student progress, communicate outcomes, and record data in student records.
Manage supplies, equipment, and budget requests; maintain inventory.
Maintain program certification requirements and conduct self-study for compliance.
Prepare documentation and administrative reports; analyze data for program improvement.
Ensure safety and security requirements are met in training areas and conduct necessary training.
Meet with students, staff, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and student progress.
Conduct recruitment, orientation, retention, and job placement support for students.
Display high level of effort, commitment, and professionalism; accept direction and work within the organizational structure.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the college.
Physical Demands
Requires operating financial resources, using a P-Card, driving occasionally, interacting with students under 18, and providing security access. The position is stationary but may involve prolonged standing or sitting; moving objects up to 15 lb, repeating wrist motions, and occasionally moving objects up to 50 lb. Light work involves moving objects up to 20 lb, and outdoor exposure to precipitation and wind is common.
