Job Description
The Alta-Aurelia Community School District is seeking a Preschool Special Education Teacher. The Preschool Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to young children with disabilities in an early childhood setting. This role includes developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting developmental and social‑emotional growth, and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA and Iowa Early ACCESS/AEA guidelines
Provide developmentally appropriate instruction and interventions
Monitor and document student progress
Collaborate with general education staff, AEA personnel, and families
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications
Valid Iowa teaching license with Early Childhood Special Education endorsement (Birth–Grade 3)
Knowledge of early childhood development and special education practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills
