Long-term 7th grade Humanities Substitute Teacher - Starting May 18th

What your day looks like
As a Substitute Teacher, you are a critical part of maintaining continuity of learning and culture for our scholars.
Facilitate lessons and learning activities based on provided plans
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Uphold school-wide systems, routines, and expectations
Support students in staying on task and engaged in meaningful work
Build positive relationships with students while maintaining structure
Communicate key updates and notes to the regular classroom teacher and administration
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, or other assigned duties as needed

You may support project-based and interdisciplinary learning
You may step into advisory (Basecamp) spaces focused on community and SEL
You will help maintain a calm, focused, and respectful classroom culture
General Responsibilities
Embody the mission, vision, and EPIC values of Pinnacles Prep
Teach, reinforce, and uphold school routines and expectations
Provide a structured and engaging classroom environment
Support student learning and independence
Follow lesson plans and leave clear notes for the teacher
Collaborate with staff and respond to feedback
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
High school diploma required; AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Prior experience working with youth in a school or community setting preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Spanish speakers and persons of color are strongly encouraged to apply
Compensation
$25.00/hr
