Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Packaging Line Supervisor, this position supports the Packaging area (line 4) and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Unload brick from kiln cars and palletize
Sort brick according to specifications
Throw brick that does not meet quality standards onto grog belt
Unclog grog belt or re-stock plastic as needed
Re‑stock packaging line with pallets and/or wood strips
Clean on or around grog belt and kiln cars
Maintain work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety
All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative
Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
Predictable and regular in‑person attendance is required, including overtime and weekends as needed
Qualifications
Requires on‑the‑job training to be able to perform duties
Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers and supervisors
Basic reading, writing and math skills
Ability to follow simple instructions
Predictable and regular in‑person attendance is required, including overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Demands
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen; stand, walk, and sit
Required to repetitively lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and must be able to walk, stand, lift, twist, bend and reach with hands and arms
Work Environment
Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, moving belts and equipment, dust, and dirt
Outdoor weather conditions
Extreme temperatures
Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
