Job Title: Lunch Aide – 2.5 hours per day
Job Code: 2494 | Department: Schools | Supervisor: Building Principal | FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt | Compensation: $15.00 / Hour | Work Calendar: 9 Months | Working Conditions: Moderate in‑district travel and intermittent in‑state/out‑of‑state travel with prolonged, irregular hours.
Purpose of the Position
To provide assistance in the cafeterias, playground, hallways, and other grounds of the building.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all actions align with Board policies, the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and strategic plan.
Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities.
Perform other related duties as needed for an efficient work environment.
Assist in supervision of bathrooms, hallways, cafeteria, commons, or any other area of the school building or grounds.
Accompany individual students to other areas of the building or grounds.
Inform administration of any problems encountered when interacting with students.
Assist with student safety.
Assist students through cafeteria lines when needed.
Assist with clean‑up of cafeteria after meal periods.
Assume any other duties assigned by administration.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Bilingual as required by location.

Climbing – Ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding ramps, poles; body agility emphasized.
Balancing – Maintaining equilibrium on narrow, slippery, or irregular surfaces.
Stooping – Bending the spine at the waist.
Kneeling – Bending legs at the knee to rest on the knee or knees.
Crouching – Bending the body forward with knees and spine.
Crawling – Moving on hands and knees or hands and feet.
Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing – Sustained periods of standing.
Walking – Moving on foot for long distances.
Pushing – Applying steady force to push objects forward, downward, or outward.

Hearing – Perceiving sounds; receiving detailed oral information and making fine discriminations.
Repetitive Motions – Substantial movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.
The Physical Requirements of the Position
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 lb. occasionally; sitting most of the time.
Light Work – Exerting up to 20 lb. occasionally or up to 10 lb. frequently.
Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 lb. occasionally or up to 20 lb. frequently.
Heavy Work – Exerting up to 100 lb. occasionally or up to 50 lb. frequently.
Very Heavy Work – Exerting more than 100 lb. occasionally or more than 50 lb. frequently.
Visual Acuity Requirements
Machine Operations – Inspection, close assembly, clerical, administration.
Mechanics – Skilled trades with power tools, lathes, and drills.
Mobile Equipment – Operating cars, trucks, forklifts, cranes, or high equipment.
Other – Accuracy and neatness for janitorial or sweeping work.
Conditions the Worker Will Be Subject To
Inside environment.
Outside environment.
Extreme heat or cold for periods >1 hour.
Noise requiring shouting.
Hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and chemicals.
