The role includes performing inspections, installations, testing, service and repairs of fire alarm systems and engineered and pre‑engineered suppression systems. You will ensure compliance with applicable life‑safety and fire‑safety requirements as mandated by standards and codes, manufacturers’ requirements, federal, state and local ordinances, customer requirements, and company expectations. This is a fast‑paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company.

What You Will Be Doing
Perform installation, inspection and testing of all types of fire alarm and engineered and pre‑engineered suppression systems at required frequencies in accordance with applicable NFPA codes and standards
Program, test, conduct final inspections, produce as‑built drawings and provide customer training for installations; troubleshoot and perform service and repair of systems
Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies and recommendations
Maintain a positive relationship with the customer and communicate information to appropriate personnel for follow‑up, quotes, questions, or concerns
Maintain vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion; keep vehicle stocked with parts, equipment and supplies needed for the job
Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform the job
Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services that the customer may require
Work in compliance with the company's safety program
Perform on‑site and/or off‑site (phone) emergency troubleshooting of systems
Discuss deficiencies with the customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
Be prepared to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays; some locations may require these more frequently or regularly
Comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces
Qualifications
Ability to calculate basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages
Ability to understand and operate basic computer functions, operating systems and software applications such as Windows, Word, Apple iOS, Android and Outlook; learn and use industry‑specific devices and software
Valid U.S. driver's license
Experience with electrical wiring and circuitry is beneficial but not required; this is an entry‑level role
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Overtime may be required; number of hours may vary by location. Exposure to a variety of work environments from hot to cold temperatures and dust. Occasional overnight travel to customer locations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; frequent lifting and carrying of toolboxes, equipment, parts, tools, cabling and wiring. Frequent ladder climbing, checking, pulling wire and related tasks. Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling and raising hands overhead. Driving required with variable time on the road. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in accordance with safety standards.
