The Role
The Kitchen Utility Worker is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the kitchen and restaurants by maintaining cleanliness standards through the operation of dishwashing equipment and sinks, polishing silverware, removing garbage, cleaning equipment and work areas including the sweeping and mopping of floors. The Kitchen Utility Worker will also assist in general food preparation for events and work alongside coworkers to reach all goals as one team.

Responsibilities

Prepare tableware for washing, i.e., scrape plates, pre‑soak silver, place all items to be washed in their proper rack.

Set up dishwashing machine, i.e., drain closed, fill tanks, set temperatures at correct level, and adjust detergents to proper level.

Wash dishes and then stack and store china in appropriate kitchen areas.

Thoroughly clean dishwashing equipment and working areas.

Collect all soiled pots, wash and restack cleaned pots on shelves.

Remove all garbage.

Mop and sweep floors.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires speed and accuracy to maintain maximum efficiency.

Ability to read and write English sufficiently to perform the job.
