Responsibilities
Oversee compliance and operational activities for the water and wastewater systems.
Ensure full adherence to provincial and federal regulations, including the Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Environmental Protection Act, Municipal Drinking Water Licence, Drinking Water Works Permit, and the Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approval.
Provide day‑to‑day leadership to unionized Water and Wastewater Operators.
Act as the Backup Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) and support the continuous delivery of safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant water and wastewater services.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Environmental Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
Professional designation such as CET or EMT considered an asset.
Valid Class II Water Distribution Operator and Class II Wastewater Collection Operator Certificates, or Class I with the ability to upgrade.
At least five years of experience in municipal water and wastewater operations, including hands‑on experience with regulatory compliance, Drinking Water Quality Management Standard, and reporting to regulatory authorities.
Salary & Benefits
The Municipality offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and registration with the OMERS pension. The wage range for this position is $44.55 – $54.62 per hour (2026 rates). This is a permanent full‑time position working 40 hours per week.
