
Percussion Coach

Tanque Verde High School is seeking a Percussion Coach. This position provides leadership, instruction, and supervision for students to ensure a high-quality performance program. This position works closely with the high school music teacher and school administration to develop students' musical skills, teamwork, and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Arrange, adapt, and/or transcribe music.
Instruct, supervise, and ensure the safety of students during rehearsals and performances.
Attend and oversee performances and events in accordance with school and district guidelines.
Assist in planning and leading rehearsals.
Support recruitment efforts and promote participation in the program.
Organize and conduct auditions or tryouts.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Contribute to creating an engaging and spirited atmosphere at school events.
Maintain professionalism while enforcing team policies and procedures aligned with school and district expectations.
Model and promote inclusive, non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills, especially in time-sensitive situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Arizona certification recognized by the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA).
Combination of relevant experience, training, and/or education as approved by the Superintendent and Human Resources.
