Program Assistant (6 Hours, Temporary)

Job Overview
Temporary position ending at the end of the 2025‑2026 school year. Working 6 hours per day (8:00 am–2:30 pm) over 190 days per year.
Salary: $18.18–$25.16 per hour. Benefits include PERS, Medical, Dental, Vision, optional insurance, paid leaves, holiday pay.
Responsibilities
Monitor student activity, safety, and behavior during playground, cafeteria, detention, and street crossing activities.
Enforce District policies and rules; resolve minor behavioral problems and discipline students for minor infractions.
Report serious behavioral problems to teachers or the principal.
Perform basic first‑aid and summon medical response when necessary.
Assist other personnel in completing work activities and perform related duties as assigned.
Conduct general clerical duties to support instructional activities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
First‑aid and CPR card (current or ability to obtain).
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
Some experience working with students (preferred but not required).
Knowledge of basic child‑care techniques, English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation, basic bookkeeping, modern office methods and procedures.
Ability to work with students, including those with behavioral problems and mild learning disabilities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build rapport with students and staff.
Decision‑making ability and independence.
Typing speed sufficient for job duties.
Second language proficiency preferred.
Terms of Employment
Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Performance evaluated annually according to the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
