Position Summary
Responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager in effectively managing the entire daily operations of inbound logistics to acquire control of inbound freight at a “less than delivered” price and enhance bottom line income for the company. Solves freight problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables, using standardization where possible. Analyzes work‑related situations and makes decisions efficiently and timely. Functions as a team member within the department and organization and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

Work with the Logistics Manager to negotiate lowest freight costs without reducing service level.

Generate period‑end revenue report.

Identify backhaul pickups that do not meet the minimum requirement for revenue.

Identify loads to be moved by contract carriage and schedule such move.

Monitor accepted loads and verify that the loads were delivered on time.

Audit carriers’ freight bills to ensure they match carriers’ confirmations.

Coordinate with Accounting to file vendor charge‑backs to orders with volumes that have been confirmed but not shipped by managed vendor.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.

Required Experience: 6‑12 months logistics/transportation administrative support experience in a related area.

Preferred Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.

Preferred Experience: 1‑2 years logistics/transportation administrative support experience in related area within the foodservice industry.
