About the Position
The Heavy Highway Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of major infrastructure projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role requires a hands‑on leader with deep expertise in DOT standards and a proven ability to deliver large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project performance, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and client communication. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring operational success while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across both public and private sectors.
Project scope includes highway widening and infrastructure work involving self‑perform excavation, embankment, storm drainage, waterline installation, crushed stone placement, and blasting.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy highway construction project management
Project Experience
Proven success managing DOT highway and infrastructure projects
Experience managing projects ranging from $20M to $100M
Strong background in self‑perform work including excavation, grading, drainage, and utilities
Technical Skills
Proficiency in construction management software such as HCSS, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and contract management
Leadership & Communication
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Strong communication abilities with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
