Current Salary and Benefits
$55,000.00 to $66,852.84 annually plus FSLA overtime
District pays 100% of PERS
Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance 100% paid by the district

The District
Jefferson Fire District covers 86 square miles in Marion and Linn Counties. We have a population of 9,300 permanent residents that live within the City of Jefferson and rural communities. We responded to over 1,300 emergencies in 2025. Services provided are ALS ambulance, Firefighting including structural, wildland and vehicle fires, hazardous material response, and swift water rescue. We are hiring 1 full-time firefighter/paramedic and establishing a hiring list. Currently we have two firefighter/paramedics per shift with a part-time EMT or paramedic. We staff one ambulance with a full time firefighter/paramedic and a part-time EMT or paramedic. The second firefighter/paramedic staffs the second out ambulance, fire engine, or appropriate apparatus for the call. Applications and qualifications will be reviewed May 7th, an assessment center will be conducted on May 18th, with a tentative start date June 26th.
