CORPORATE PLANNING & MANAGEMENT
Corporate Planning & Management (CPM) is a central strategic function at Goldman Sachs, responsible for driving firmwide operational excellence, business planning, and the infrastructure that enables the firm to operate with strength, resiliency, and agility. CPM partners across every division to deliver scalable solutions, optimize business processes, and position the firm for sustainable growth. Our teams combine deep institutional knowledge with forward-looking innovation to ensure Goldman Sachs remains at the forefront of operational efficiency and strategic execution.
The CPM Division unifies Finance & Planning, Spend Management, Operational Risk and Resilience, and CPM Engineering teams to deliver business planning and analytics, expense management, third-party risk management, and governance strategies across the firm. Within Spend Management, the Source to Pay function encompasses Strategic Sourcing, Procure to Pay, Integrated Travel and Expense, Infrastructure and Transformation, and Sustainable Operations — managing all aspects of the firm\'s spend with third parties, advising on commercial agreements, and driving operating efficiency.
SOURCE TO PAY – CONTINGENT WORKER PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
Within CPM, the Source to Pay function oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of procurement and payables — from sourcing and vendor management through purchasing, invoicing, and payment. We are committed to transforming this critical business capability through modern platforms, intelligent automation, and AI-driven innovation, ensuring our internal stakeholders have seamless, transparent, and efficient tools to manage the firm\'s spend. The
Contingent Worker team is specifically focused on optimizing the management, engagement, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and lifecycle tracking of contingent workers (temporary staff, contractors, and statement-of-work-based resources) across the firm.
YOUR IMPACT
Are you an emerging product professional passionate about transforming enterprise contingent workforce management through technology, automation, and AI? Goldman Sachs is seeking an
Associate, Product Management to join the Corporate Planning & Management division, focused on the
Contingent Worker domain within Source to Pay.
Professionals in CPM have an analytical mindset, exhibit intellectual curiosity, and come from diverse academic backgrounds. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in product management and a growing understanding of business processes and applications that support contingent workforce management — including hands-on familiarity with SAP Fieldglass or comparable Vendor Management System (VMS) platforms.
You are analytically minded, collaborative, and eager to deepen your expertise. The role requires collaboration with different functions across the firm on a regular basis, an ability to work independently, and the ability to interact with senior professionals across the firm. You will work closely with engineering, operations, human capital management, procurement, and senior leadership to help define and execute a product vision for contingent worker support that leverages AI tools, intelligent automation, and modern engineering practices to drive measurable impact across the firm.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Contingent Worker Product Support: Support the product lifecycle for contingent worker platform products — contributing to discovery, requirements definition, delivery, and ongoing optimization under the guidance of senior product leaders.
Requirements Definition & Documentation: Define functional and non-functional requirements for new contingent worker features and work with Engineering and Strategic Delivery Partners to ensure that the delivery of these requirements aligns with business objectives. Create detailed documentation, including business process flows, user stories, and use cases.
AI & Automation Contribution: Help champion the use of AI tools, machine learning, and intelligent automation to streamline contingent worker processes such as requisition management, worker onboarding/offboarding, time and expense tracking, compliance monitoring, and rate benchmarking. Partner with engineering teams building and deploying AI-powered capabilities.
Business Process Expertise: Develop and apply subject matter expertise in contingent workforce workflows — including worker requisition, sourcing and selection, onboarding, time capture and approval, invoicing for contingent labor, offboarding, and compliance management — translating these into clear product requirements and user stories.
SAP Fieldglass Platform Expertise: Serve as a knowledgeable contributor on SAP Fieldglass configuration, capabilities, and best practices. Support the optimization, integration, and enhancement of Fieldglass within the firm\'s broader Source to Pay and HR technology ecosystem.
Stakeholder Facilitation & Alignment: Facilitate workshops, meetings, and demonstrations to align stakeholders and gather feedback. Act as a liaison between business users and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of contingent worker solutions.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements. Coordinate and oversee end-to-end system testing, including UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Identify, track, and manage defects using test management tools and deliver test status reports, dashboards, and recommendations to project stakeholders. Support post-go-live validations and ensure defect-free production rollouts.
Platform & Vendor Ecosystem Support: Assist in managing the vendor and platform ecosystem strategy for contingent worker management, including evaluation, integration, and optimization of enterprise applications (e.g., SAP Fieldglass, VMS platforms). Support assessments of existing capabilities and contribute to transitions to improved solutions where appropriate.
Collaborative, Influence-Based Teamwork: Work effectively within cross-functional teams — building relationships, fostering inclusive collaboration, and ensuring diverse perspectives inform product decisions. Help drive alignment across engineering, operations, procurement, human capital management, and senior leadership.
Value-Driven Prioritization: Contribute to defining and maintaining a product backlog and roadmap that is prioritized by business value, ensuring the team delivers the right capabilities at the right time. Balance near-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals.
Gap & Pain Point Analysis: Identify friction points, inefficiencies, and risks within current contingent worker processes and systems. Translate these into actionable technical requirements and product enhancements.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with other Product Managers and stakeholders across CPM and the broader firm to ensure contingent worker solutions integrate seamlessly into the firm\'s operational ecosystem and deliver a consistent, low-friction experience.
Metrics & Performance Management: Help define, track, and report on key performance indicators to measure product success, user adoption, process efficiency, and business impact within the contingent worker domain.
Industry & Innovation Research: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies (particularly in AI/ML and automation as applied to contingent workforce management and VMS platforms), and competitive landscapes to inform and strengthen the product roadmap.
Agile Delivery: Actively participate in the agile development process — writing user stories and acceptance criteria, grooming backlogs with developers and designers, and helping ensure high-quality, timely delivery of features and functionality.
