Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager’s main priority is to effectively manage a Project’s Document Control and correspondences between the Design Team and all Sub‑Contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Review submittals for compliance with specifications prior to submission to the design team
Manage all submittals and shop drawings on Procore including distribution to subcontractors and the design team
Manage RFIs and the RFI process including distribution to all relevant trades and follow up for cost implications
Maintain Microsoft Project schedules and monitor progress for all trades in coordination with the project team
Prepare all change orders for review by project manager and submit to owner
Distribute and track all subcontractor change orders
Collect and review monthly subcontractor billings with Project Manager
Work with accounting team to maintain updated cost information
Distribute and maintain the construction progress reporting to client during weekly project meeting with Project Manager
Distribute weekly meeting package and meeting minutes for weekly project meeting
Supervise Assistant Engineers, Engineering Assistants, Plan Clerks and Interns, including yearly review of performance
Oversee the close‑out process. Prepare final records for the project such as Requests for Information (RFIs), close‑out records, warranties, as‑builts, Operations and Maintenance manuals (O&Ms), attic stock, and spare parts, and evaluating information to ensure compliance with contract documents
Maintain and update reports such as General Conditions items, labor, safety, change order logs and quality control
Create and issue bulletin and addendum packages as required for changes within project, collect proposals from subcontractors
Engage in weekly walk‑throughs of project site and provide field report with photos
Assist the project manager in submittals, RFIs, scheduling, requisitions, meetings, and all project management operations
Professional Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
2‑4 years of relevant experience within the Construction, Architectural, Engineering or Real Estate Industry
Wesbuilt considers applicants who are new to the industry with either a Project Management or Business background
Comprehends construction drawings, specifications and pre‑construction process
Key Skills & Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Project)
Software proficiency once on‑boarded includes Procore Construction Management Software and BIM
Strong client relations skills and a collaborative disposition
