Project Assistant (Youth Empowerment and Employment) - Sebha

Under the direct supervision of the Early Recovery and Livelihoods Project Officer and in close coordination with the Area Coordinator, the Project Assistant (Youth Empowerment and Employment) will assist in the implementation of livelihoods, skills development, and youth empowerment activities of the Recovery and Solutions Department, contributing to protection oriented economic interventions.

Role objectives:

Assist in the day to day implementation of livelihoods, skills development, and youth empowerment and employment activities under the Recovery and Solutions Department, including market relevant skills training, Individual Livelihood Assistance (ILA), Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) support, and youth employment initiatives.

Support the organization and logistical arrangements of training sessions, workshops, community outreach activities, job‑readiness sessions, and awareness‑raising events related to livelihoods and youth employment interventions.

Assist in the identification, registration, and routine follow‑up of beneficiaries—including youth—in line with established project criteria and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Receive and guide beneficiaries participating in livelihoods, skills development, and youth employment activities, providing basic information on available services, opportunities, and referral pathways in coordination with relevant units and partners.

Support the enrolment of beneficiaries into relevant digital or paper‑based systems, maintaining accuracy and completeness of information in line with data protection standards.

Assist in monitoring attendance, participation, and completion of trainings, youth employment activities, and general livelihood support interventions.

Provide administrative and operational support to the delivery of ILA, EDF, and youth employment interventions, including assisting with documentation, verification of beneficiary files, and coordination of routine follow‑ups.

Support basic market, employer, and community engagement activities by assisting with the organization of meetings with local stakeholders, service providers, training institutions, employers, and community representatives, as required.

Liaise with internal units (e.g. Protection, M&E, Finance, Procurement) to facilitate the smooth implementation of livelihoods and youth employment activities.

Maintain regular communication with implementing partners, trainers, employers, and service providers to support activity scheduling and coordination, under the guidance of the Project Officer.

Assist in the collection, compilation, and organization of activity‑level data, including beneficiary lists, monitoring forms, and feedback records related to livelihoods and youth employment interventions, for internal tracking and reporting purposes.

Input data into the IMS system and provide information related to the livelihoods initiatives, supporting the accuracy of reported data.

Support the mainstreaming of protection principles, Do No Harm, gender sensitivity, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), and PSEA throughout livelihoods, skills development, and youth employment activities.

Promptly report any protection concerns, implementation challenges, or deviations from SOPs to the supervisor.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in social sciences, development studies, economics, business administration, or a related field from an accredited academic institution and two years of relevant experience.

Sector experience:

Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable relevant experience in project implementation.

Geographical experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in any country.

Experience

Assisting in project implementation, livelihoods programming, skills development, youth employment, community-based interventions, including support with beneficiary registration, activity coordination, and routine follow-up.

Experience working in field or operational settings, preferably with an international organization, UN agency, NGO, or government counterpart, providing administrative and operational support to project activities.

Experience in Individual Livelihood Assistance (ILA), small-scale grants, cash-based assistance, or enterprise support activities, including handling documentation, beneficiary files, and basic verification processes under supervision.

Experience in community engagement and coordination, supporting meetings, trainings, workshops, or outreach activities with beneficiaries, service providers, community representatives, or local stakeholders.

Experience in basic data collection, data entry, and record-keeping, including maintaining beneficiary lists, attendance sheets, monitoring forms, and supporting routine reporting in line with SOPs and data protection standards.

Skills

Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, Internet and experience with Accounting systems.

Basic data management skills, including data entry, record-keeping, and maintaining organized project documentation.

Good organizational and coordination skills, including the ability to support multiple activities and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
