
Banquet Barback

The Banquet Barback is responsible for the initial preparation and servicing of all portable bars operating within the Banquet Operations department.
Essential Functions
Supply bartender(s) with liquor, mixers, etc. from liquor room and log on “liquor-out” sheets with Beverage Manager.
Cut, Slice and peel perishable garnishes and fruits.
Mix and pour juices in sufficient amounts according to projected business.
Store back-up supplies needing refrigeration in prescribed containers for later use.
Maintain cleanliness of barback areas (i.e. sink, cooler, supply storeroom and office).
Check with and assist bartender(s) in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies (i.e. stir sticks, napkins, matches, etc.).
Communicate with Beverage Manager to ensure low supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
Supply bartender(s) with clean glassware and ice.
Assist bartender(s) with breaks (i.e. bathroom)
Help with breaking down bars, making sure each bartender has a cart on which to load liquor and mixers, for transport back to the storage area.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management (i.e., opening adequate amounts of dinner wine).
Adhere to all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Qualifications
Education:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience:
No prior experience required, prior bar experience preferred.
Certificates or Licenses:
Maricopa County food handlers card/certification and Arizona Title IV alcohol certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs and extend arms over head to stock items.
Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from guests and communicate simple instructions.
Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move, push a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 300lbs at a continuous schedule
