Journeyman Level 1 (J1) Electrician & Instrumentation
Pay Rate:
$40.24/hr.

The Job You Will Perform
This position will assist journeymen-level Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. Our world class Global Manufacturing Training program provides paid hands‑on experiences and classroom instruction in order to prepare you for your next promotion.
Duties
Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain PLC systems
Single-loop controls for various field systems
Installation, calibration, troubleshooting of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment from various manufacturers
Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid‑operated valves, and calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
Routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems
Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
Understand and follow NFPA 70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
Troubleshoot, install, and repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand‑alone process drives of various manufacturers
Troubleshoot, install, and maintain electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo‑electric, speed, and reflective switches
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480 V thru 13.8 kV power distribution switchgear
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum 18 years of age
Minimum high‑school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
Eligible for employment in the U.S.
At least three (3) years of work experience in Instrumentation systems or in Electrical systems
Must be willing to work in industrial conditions (warm/hot, dusty/dirty, hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated work surfaces, and confined spaces with proper safety training and protection)
Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands‑on assessment of skills
Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
Undergo a job‑related health assessment as a condition of employment
Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
Work overtime on a regular basis and with last‑minute notification
Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
Wear required safety equipment
Preferred Skills and Experience
Associate’s degree or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical
Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
Understands and demonstrates effective team skills
Self‑directed actions to complete necessary assignments
Ability to follow direction of supervisors and lead mechanics
Focus on personal and team development
Strategic agility
