Summary:
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician (FSQA) conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of the production processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions:
Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and international, federal and state regulations.
Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.
Records test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation.
Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to Production/QA Management.
Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
Identifies work related problems and recommends effective solutions as appropriate.
Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
Additional Functions:
Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year experience in food processing.
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education & Experiences:
3 years of experience in food processing.
1 year of experience in Quality Assurance in a food processing facility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge
Basic knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and HACCP principles.
Understanding of sanitation standards, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
Familiarity with production quality standards and documentation requirements.
Skills
Ability to inspect and test food products for quality and compliance.
Accurate data recording and report preparation.
Effective communication of quality issues to Production and QA teams.
Strong observation and problem‑solving skills.
Abilities
Ability to apply acceptance/rejection criteria consistently.
Capable of working independently in a fast‑paced production environment.
Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks required in food processing.
Ability to recognize and elevate food safety or safety concerns.
Work Ability Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
Movement: regularly up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Authorizations:

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a non‑exempt position with an hourly rate of $20 to $24.
