$60,800 to $69,200 (10‑month)
Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and provide written evidence of preparation.
Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles.
Present subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect students’ learning styles and needs.
Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students per IEP guidelines.
Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
Be a positive role model for students and support the district mission.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the developmental needs of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials as appropriate.
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.
Stay informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and documents in a timely manner.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise assigned teacher aides.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
Demonstrated competency in the core or required academic subject area assigned.
Knowledge of assigned subjects and general curriculum and instruction.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
