Overtime Status: 12+ hours in 1 day or 40+ hours in 1 work week**Summary**The Clinic Receptionist greets patients and visitors, determines the nature and purpose of visits, and assists with check-in, paperwork collection, data entry, and appointment scheduling.**Job Description**Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them, ascertaining the purpose of calls or visits, and directing calls and visitors to the appropriate staff. Completes prompt and accurate registration for applicable patients upon their arrival. Collects payments at the time of service and assures that provider-based billing requirements are met. Obtains insurance pre-authorizations and benefits as needed. Completes insurance verification, Medicare Secondary Payer, and Advanced Beneficiary Notice as appropriate. Schedules, confirms, cancels, and reschedules appointments. Thoroughly completes charts for all upcoming patient visits. Competently and efficiently utilizes all features of the EMR necessary for the position. Performs clerical tasks such as filing, data entry and verification, and ordering supplies. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions. Other duties as assigned.**Qualifications**Post secondary courses in medical terminology, word processing and/or healthcare business preferred.

Experience in medical office setting or as Admitting Clerk within the last 3 years preferred. Prior experience with EMR preferred.
