Job Overview
The Education Department oversees 32 Adventist church schools in the Oregon Conference. The Administrative Assistant provides support for the superintendents and will also manage other vital areas within the Education department.
Responsibilities
Receptionist for the department.
Assist in planning and events (Friendship Tournament, Music Festival, Outdoor School)
Registrar for students enrolled in junior academies
School SIS (student information systems), oversee and troubleshoot with RenWEb; School Insight/Teacher Ease & AE-Connect
Work with schools and Human Resources in processing locally-funded employees.
Produces and manages Principal Release and Guest Teacher reports
Send out and track SafeSchools training videos for teachers
Manage the student assessment MAP Testing
Create Google Form Documents and Survey Monkey for events
Collect student enrollment information from schools for data tracking
Update and prepare training and referencing material (Principal Handbook & paperwork, Financial resource Notebook for school treasurers)
Send out student profile Cumulative Folders
Oversee Education Resource Library
Make sure background checks on school staff are completed
IPM & Asbestos
Other general office management duties and Superintendent support as requested
Assist with scholarships
Assist schools with campus beautification requests
Submit accounts payable receipts for reimbursement processing for approved school and teacher requests
Help with camp meeting
Collect stories from schools and connect with Conference Communications department for sharing mission and soul winning stories
Education Treasurer support as requested
Perform other duties as required or assigned
Personal Spiritual Life & Church Employment
The Administrative Assistant for the Oregon Conference should exhibit evidence of a strong spiritual life, being firmly grounded in a personal relationship with Jesus. They must be supportive of the fundamental doctrines, teachings, mission, and the distinctive lifestyle standards of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They must be a member in good standing with attendance at a local Seventh-day Adventist church.

Must be a team player and able to serve people with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care, in all forms of communication.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at once through completion by deadline date.
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to work with employees, school staff, and external contacts.
Passion for supporting ministry and serving others in sharing the Gospel within our Conference field, through excellent service in support of Adventist education.
Strong commitment to ethical integrity and responsible stewardship of Conference and Education department resources.
Practice confidentiality of information at all times.
Possess strong computer skills and a desire to innovate and learn new programs.
Knowledge of Adventist education policy and procedures is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Education/Experience
Experience within the Adventist education system and/or previous experience as an administrative assistant is strongly preferred.
Employment Conditions/Physical Requirements
The majority of the Administrative Assistant’s time will be spent sitting at a desk, working at a computer or on the phone in an office setting. Some occasional lifting and moving of supplies and equipment will be necessary (generally less than 25 pounds).

The Oregon Conference hires Seventh-day Adventist Church members in regular standing based on religious preferences permitted by the United States Constitution and controlling law.
Compensation
Compensation:
This position has an hourly wage range of $17.00 to $22.54 per hour.
