Senior Waste Customer Technician
Severn Trent Water, Severn, MD, United States
Everything You Need to Know
We’re looking for a Senior Waste Customer Technician to join our Reactive Sewer Services Team, primarily based at our Mansfield site in Nottingham with flexibility to work from our Branton site in Doncaster. You’ll be supporting the Customer Delivery Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple Jetting Operatives crews, helping to ensure our network runs smoothly and our customers receive the best possible service.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be out and about across the county, helping to coordinate reactive works, resolve escalations, and support the delivery of high-quality wastewater services. While you won’t have direct reports, you’ll play a key role in guiding and supporting the wider team.
How We Work
We’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, including some evenings and weekends on a standby rota. You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That’s why we value in‑person moments to keep our culture alive, and for this role you’ll usually find us in the office during our working hours.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love for you to have a passion for serving your local community. At Severn Trent, we cover 10 Counties across the Midlands and beyond, and working in your area should bring you pride and that should follow through into the work you do.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Experience in wastewater, drainage, or sewer operations.
A background in supporting reactive, field‑based teams.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A proactive approach to problem‑solving and customer service.
A full UK driving licence.
Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We seek people who get involved, want to be part of something bigger, and make a difference because they care.
How We’ll Reward and Care for You
It’s not just a job; it’s a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award‑winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you’ll contribute to the environment and community too.
Salary of up to £40,845.25 + weekend working allowance
Annual bonus scheme (up to £2,250 based on company performance and subject to eligibility)
Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
Dedicated training and development with our Academy
Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
Family friendly policies
Two paid volunteering days per year
