Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 13,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position promotes and fosters a learning community to support teachers and school personnel in integrating instructional and behavioral strategies such as applied behavior analysis, structured teaching, and evidence‑based practices. The role serves as a consultant to school personnel and parents across all schools with the goal of educating students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.

Develop, implement, and evaluate behavior intervention plans.
Conduct functional behavior assessments and analyses.
Design and assess classroom management and reinforcement systems.
Model effective instructional strategies for classroom teachers.
Facilitate individual and systemic interventions.
Implement technology and assistive technology with school teams.
Demonstrate excellence and go above and beyond.
Responsibilities
Develop systems and structures to promote a learning community among teachers, teaching assistants, related service personnel, and school administrators.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and other team members to plan and implement appropriate interventions.
Support the implementation of the Common Core State Standards and the ALLofE framework.
Provide professional development to help staff identify and address students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Integrate digital tools and resources to support effective instruction.
Utilize technology for data collection, monitoring, and tracking.
Participate in IEP team meetings, developing and evaluating interventions.
Assist in creating behavior intervention plans to ensure student progress.
Provide electronic learning resources for teachers, staff, and students.
Model collaborative learning with all constituent groups.
Coach teachers in developing social‑emotional curriculum aligned with district goals.
Maintain and expand digital instruction skills.
Engage in professional growth activities.
Fulfill district program improvement, community group participation, and ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Valid Type 73 certificate or LBS1.
3–5 years of experience working with students with autism, developmental delay, or other behavioral challenges.
Experience with assistive technology and instructional technology.
Knowledge and experience in ABA, structured teaching, and behavior modification.
CPI certification prior to start of assignment or within 3 months of employment.
Experience developing and implementing behavioral interventions in school and classroom settings.
Compensation
Salary Structure.
Terms of Employment
10 months, based on grant funding approval annually. May work up to 10 days before the start of the school year and 10 days after the end of the school year based on district needs.
